Experiment: Comparision Between Casual Yield And Percent

Percentage yield
The ratio between the actual yield and theoretical yield multiplied by 100 is called the percentage yield. Percentage yield demonstrates the percentage of theoretical that was gained from the end product in a reaction. The percentage yield is calculated using this equation:
Percentage Yield =(Mass of actual yield)/(Mass of theoretical yield) ×100.
The mass of actual yield is the mass of the end product that was gained from the experiment. The actual yield is the amount of product that was actually produced at the end of the experiment. The theoretical yield is mass of the product that should have been obtained by looking at the balanced equation. The mass of the theoretical yield is the theoretical mass of the product which

Introduction The goal of this experiment was to determine atomic weight of Kandimonium and the relative number of M&M’s in Kandimonium. Kandimonim is composed of three isotopes: Skittles, M&M’s, and Sweet Tarts, and the ratio of Sweet Tarts to Skittles is 27:18. The relative number of M&M’s and the atomic mass were determined by weighing each of the different Isotopes and calculating their average masses for further calculations.…

The purpose of this lab was to understand the Law of Conservation of Mass and how it works, using half of an Alka-Seltzer tablet, concealed in a water to fill the container, while a balloon sealed the top to keep it a closed system. The hypothesis was, if the Alka-Seltzer chemical reaction is a closed system, then the mass of the products will equal the reactants. The data did not support the hypothesis because the products were almost always a different mass to the reactants but only the last trial revealed that the mass of the reactants was equal to the products. Usually, the trials indicated a loss of mass until the third trial was done, which was a success. Since the experiment was a closed system, matter could not leave or enter.…

To test our theory that lettuce plants absorb nutrients more efficiently with nutrient circulation than without circulation, we designed an experiment using a water pump for the treatment group. To set up the experiment we used 2- plastic six-quart storage containers for the control and treatment groups. The containers each had tight fitting lids that contained 4 holes to place yogurt containers in each, with a total of 8 yogurt cups between both groups. Next, two small holes were drilled into each yogurt cup that allowed us to pull an 8” wick through the holes, the wicks were designed to be inserted into the water for nutrient absorption. Each lettuce container (yogurt cup) was filled with vermiculite used as a moisture retaining medium.…

The aim of this experiment was to determine the percentage composition of magnesium and oxygen in magnesium oxide and evaluate if the composition varies or remains constant. To test this, magnesium was heated and made to react with the oxygen gas in the atmosphere. This reaction formed the ionic compound, magnesium oxide. The percentage composition was later calculated based on the results of the experiment as shown in the above calculations, Figure 4. These results were compared to the expected percentage composition also calculated in calculations, Figure 1.…
