There are five steps: observing some phenomenon, formulating hypotheses and predictions, testing through empirical research, drawing conclusions, and evaluating conclusions. The book explains each step in the process thoroughly, which I thought was beneficial because I would not have understood what each step was without the explanation. It goes on to say that steps three, four, and five in the scientific method are part of an ongoing process. This means that the results of an experiment can be interpreted and reviewed over and over again so psychologists everywhere can evaluate and study behavior continually. I think adding this fact at the end of the section was a good idea because it lets me know that it is a never ending process, and that psychology is a science that will continue on forever.

It does a great job stating a fact and providing thorough explanations to help the reader understand the content.
