Just like in the military when the D.S. is giving commands. There are preparatory commands and execution commands. Preparatory command prepares you for execution command. Take forward march for example, forward is the prep command, march is the execution command. Learning the necessities is the prep command and graduation is the execution command. Without one or the other you have nowhere to go. You have to have them both in unison in order for it to work in your favor. If you graduate but have not learned anything then you have done yourself a grave disservice. If you learn but never graduate then you wasted your time.
