This, in and of itself is an act of love. If there were not another choice, there would be forced worship, rather than willing and active adoration for our holy God. The emptiness of other religions can contribute to a saving faith and salvation of man. In the world one lives in, many seek for the one who saves, who heals, who restores, who creates. The world of the Old Testament was not far removed from the challenges of diverse religions. God’s people, the Israelites were prone to fall far from Him. Moses writes of a time to come for the nation “The Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive among the nations to which the Lord will drive you. There you will worship man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell. But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul” (NIV, Deuteronomy 4:27-29). Man then finds, as the Israelites did that natural religions of this world have no life, but death and is found by seeking for Him with all one’s heart. Life is found in knowing Christ Jesus.
