Title: telling the time to the hour
Objective: Student will tell the time using a digital and analog clock.
Standard: 1- Physical Development 2- approaches to learning, 3) Social and emotional Development, 4) language, communication, and emergent literacy, 5) Cognitive Development and General Knowledge.
Material: Clock, book: it’s about the time by Stuart Murphy, white card stock, colored card stock (two colors), scissors, and brass paper fasteners.

Materials: A large Clock small clocks (enough for the whole class) and worksheet on telling time.
Activity: 1) Concentrate on teaching students the time “on the hour” to do so, we need a large digital clock and ask students how many big numbers are on the clock? Let the student explore and point out the numbers. Tell them the short- hand is the hour hand. Explain to them that when they see the hour hand moves from one number to the next, that means one hour has passed. Also, explain to them what they can do in one hour.
2) After the students have learned this, it is time to introduce them the half hour. Explain to then half hour equal 30 minutes. Ask them what they can in half hour?
3) Then teach them the quarter, use different strategies to help them understand “quarter to and the quarter past”.
4) Moving on by introducing the concept of five minute interval. Explain to them that the long hand is the minute hand. Then telling them that when the minute hand moves from a number to the next, one minute has passed. Tell them there are 60 minutes in 1 hour. Ask them to do something in a minute. Explain that time telling us when to begin and to stop an activity and how long we have been doing it. Tell them that people use different types of materials to measure the time such as clock and calendar.
Activity: 1- start by asking how you know it’s time to do something. How do you know today is Monday? 2- Have students work in a small group ask them complete the following questions
