Ann Landers once said “Love is friendship that has caught on fire, It settles less than perfection and makes allowances for human weakness.” In The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins’,the overarching theme is teenage love. The main character is Katniss Everdeen. Katniss and Peeta both fall for each other. Peeta told Katniss that he had a crush on her on the 1st day of school. They both work together on the games. Teenage love can be complicated for some people and by the relationship that Katniss has with Gale, Rue and Peeta.

Perhaps they are really weeds of some sort, but they have blossoms in beautiful shades of violet and yellow and white. I gather up an armful and come back to Rue’s side. Slowly, one stem at a time, I decorate her body in the flowers. Covering the ugly wound. Wreathing her face. Weaving her hair with bright colors”.
