One of the sociologist perspective that is present in Panera Bread is, symbolic interactionism. The symbolic interactionism perspective is that peopach meaning to symbols and they act according to the subjective interception of the symbol. One of these main symbols is a verbal conversation. When people speak with words it’s a predominant symbol which makes the subjective interpretation evident. In Panera, there were a lot of people that were having verbal communication with each other. This consist of the manager asking me how I am doing,greeting me, taking my meal order, couples and families having conversations, and the student talking to her parents about her upcoming finals. During an effective communication process, there is an interaction of symbols between individuals who interpret the world around them. An example of this is, when families are having conversations about their life and have the world around them. Herbert Blumer, a sociologist came up with the the idea that there are different meanings for different people. The different kinds of groups in society I found at panera, show there is evidence of this. People that go to panera might go there because they have different purposes. The other sociological perspective that is the functionalist perspective. It focuses on the structures that are created in society and how they remain stable.
