Baseball Player Dies After Getting Hit by the Pitch
Professional baseball players get hit by pitches all the time, but with pitchers throwing up to 100 miles per hour, it's never a pleasant situation. Unfortunately for Cleveland Indians' shortstop Ray Chapman, his last hit-by-pitch turned out to be fatal.

Have you ever pitched in baseball? If you have you know it would be beneficial if you could put something on your fingers to get a better grip on the ball, however the MLB doesn't think so they have been against gripping substances since they banned the spitball in 1920.Gripping substances should be available for MLB pitchers because the majority of batters are receptive to the idea, less batters might get hit by a pitch, and since the majority of pitchers use a substance it is difficult to punish all of the players. This year Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs was hit by 20 pitches one of them breaking his finger and getting himself a spot on the injured reserve. He is on pace to get hit by 53 pitches this year.
