Boo Radley gave Jem and Scout a lot of gifts. Jem and Scout noticed someone leaving things in a tree knothole for them. In the knothole there were things like gum, pennies, twine, soap figures representing Scout and Jem, spelling bee medal, and a pocket watch with an aluminum knife. When Miss Maudie’s house was on fire it was really cold and later on Scout found a blanket around her. They then found out it was Boo who put the blanket on her, “Atticus said… ‘Someday, maybe, Scout can thank him for covering her up.’ ‘Thank who?’ I asked. ‘Boo Radley. You were so busy looking at the fire you didn’t know it when he put the blanket around you’” (Lee 96). Boo also saved Jem and Scout from Bob Ewell harming them. He doesn’t really give them gifts as objects, but he definitely has gifted them as a father. Atticus takes care of the children and respects them for who they are.
