In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird Tom Robison is a African American in the 1930s who is accused of raping a white girl named Mayella Ewell. In this novel Atticus Finch is appointed to Tom’s case and has to prove his innocence. In this novel the mocking bird is seen as a symbol for innocence. That’s why there is no doubt that Atticus Finch is the mockingbird because he is always polite, warns people when danger is approaching, and try’s to love everyone. Atticus Finch is considered a mockingbird because under any circumstance he is always polite.
