1. What is deviance? Give one example of deviance.
• Deviance is a violation of cultures norms. An example of this would be stealing or shoplifting.
2. What are the different types of crime? Define each type.
• The three different types of crimes are crimes against person, which is when someone is involved in direct violence or threat of violence to another person like a murder, assault, robbery, and rape. Then the second crime is crimes against property, which is when someone does something to someone’s property like burglary, auto theft, and arson. The third crime is victimless crimes which is when nobody has a clear victim like illegal drug use, prostitution, and gambling. White-collar crimes are those committed while doing business, such as cheating on taxes, bribery, and embezzling funds from a company.

• Durkheim’s theory because yes it does bring us together when something happens.
