Exam Two Essay There are four agents of sociology that have played a crucial role in everyone's lives. The agents are family, education, peers, and mass media. Family, primary groups and significant others are the people you have face-face contact with and strong emotional ties with. The significant others can be cartoon characters, a parent, or a pet who are important in a child's life. Education, is where face to face contact happens. The institutions of education are stable and predictable social arrangements created by people for the purpose of coordinating human activities to meet needs, such as food and shelte.Peers, in or out groups are groups to which a person belongs to, identifies, admires, and feels loyalty to. I have formed an extremely close bond with my mother. She taught me to respect my elders and when we talk to any of the elders in the family we ask for their blessing in spanish.. We also serve ourselves last our elders go first for everything. She really has taught me to be grateful for what I have, because she was very poor when she lived in the Dominican Republic. I do not talk back to anyone in my family, and if I have an issue my mother allows me to talk to her about it. This agent is the most significant in my life. Education has taught me to be obedient and to listen. It also taught me to form a good work ethic and made me realize that I will not be the best in everything I do, but if I try it can be conceivable. Getting education also forced me to come out of my shell a bit and to talk and make connections with others I have attended school with. My peers have affected how I act and think. Many of my peers do illegal things and their ignorance has made me stray away from those things. They also taught me that people can be cruel to others. I also do not talk to my parents in a rude manner like many of my peers have in the past. I learned how people interpret things in different ways and to realize how to approach someone about a certain topic. My peers have hindered me because they made it easy for me to see the bad in
