Evolutionism vs. Creationism
How was the world created, was it instantaneously, a couple of days or, millions of years? There are two main theories Evolution and Creationism. Creationism is split into two subsections; Old earth and Young earth. They both conclude that god is the reason why animals, plants, and objects are the way are now. Young earth is the belief that you are to take Genesis 1:1 literally. Old earth is split into three sub sections; Day-Age, Gap theory, and Progressive.
The Day-Age theory is a way for Theistic evolutionists to combine the Bible and evolutionist ideas. Gap theory is where there was an amount of time between Genesis 1 and 2. The progressive theory is that the world was created in individual sections. Intelligent

“Given the abundant evidence supporting the theory of biological evolution, it is highly probable that evolution has occurred and is still occurring today. However, there remains speculation in regards to the specific evolutionary path of some species lines and the relative importance of the different natural processes responsible for their evolution.”(Dennis O’Neil, Early theories of evolution, Genetic changes over generations.). There is also geographical distribution of similar species. Around the world you can find similar species fossilized. Some species such as mice, rabbits, and mosquitos reproduce quickly. So there is a higher chance that there will be mutation. That mutation if it is useful will be passed on to the next …show more content…
Dendrochronology supports old earth. Probably the greatest piece of old earth evidence is the Cambrian explosion. The Progressive theory is based on a lot of individual creations by God over a span of time. Fossil records have shown small physical changes in a species body. This shows that we could have come from even the smallest of life forms. If God created us like this then his periods of time he called days, would have been actually long periods of time. Since there was no sun yet how would you actually mark time, or is time something humans use as a way to govern their days.
Gap theory is the theory that there was a long span of time between Genesis 1 and 2. The Day-Age theory is that the days in Genesis 1 are actually long periods of time. “Physical evidence supporting creation would include both physical evidence that directly supports creation and physical evidence that refutes biological macroevolution. This statement is true because either life evolved via a random natural process or life was created by an intelligent designer who we refer to as God.”(Physical Evidence Supporting Creation.

Evolutionary Creationism is a belief that God created the universe and all life including our surroundings through evolution. We have an old Earth that is 4.6 billion years old. When God was creating the Earth, the seven days weren't made up of our twenty-four hour days. The time he spent was consisted of what we know now as years. This took up a lot of time as well as the many years in between each event in the Bible.…

While young-earth contends that the earth was created in six days and dates the earth as merely thousands of years old. On the contrary, the old-earth view is that the earth is more than 4.56 billion years old. Furthermore, its existence is based on a series of combustions related to clouds of gas. Moreover, old-earth view denies any existence of a superior being and/or creator, whereas young-earth’s view is based on witness accounts from the Bible and acknowledges the existence of the ultimate creator, God as being the sole creator of all existence. “By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible” (Hebrews…

The Qur’an talks of Allah telling the earth and the heavens to come together, which created the stars and planets. Like Christianity Allah created the earth in six days but there are many key differences. The ‘six days’ is thought of as six periods of time or eons as the Arabic word youm (day) is used to detonate different measurements of time (Islam Creation Story). It is believed that life developed over a long period of time. Like Darwin’s idea of evolution, but Allah power was responsible for creating everything in different stages.…
