Evidence Based Assessment

My interpretation of evidence based assessment, is that for a clinician to identify a patient’s actual and potential problems with one’s assessment skills. This is done by keeping up with the latest treatments, medications, technology and best practices. Nursing will never be stationary; it is an ever changing and evolving field. As nurses, we see every day that nursing techniques, theories and interventions help bring forth more effective nursing care and better outcomes for patients. A nurse never stops learning and when one snubs to learn new ways of caring for patients, ineffective care will be provided which have unfavorable outcomes.
