She then meets a man named Antonio, a camera that was making a film about Osvaldo. Something happens to him and Nieve is all alone once again. In the book Neive, has become the master of her own future but is left alone and realizes she was so used to people telling her what to do that she feels lost. In the text she writes, “It's been several weeks since I’ve written. Antonio has not come back… He wouldn’t leave like that without saying goodby”(231). She feels abandoned because she made herself vulnerable with Antonio and he left for no good reason in her mind. This shows that because she did not have anyone by her side and because she was alone she craved for someone to tell her what to do. She also inscribed, “ Everyone's’ leaving, they all leave me behind”(241). Everyone in her life that she knew and was important to her, that guided her in life, good or bad, has left and she felt lonely and sad because of it. This shows the emotions she has at the end of the book.
