High school grades were so easy to calculate and looked like it followed a clear grading scale. However, college seems to grade things differently. In high school, grades always started with an “A” and depending on what you got on all of your assignments, tests, and quizzes, that “A” will either go up or it will go down. In college, you do not start out with a letter but instead, you calculate all of your scores from the very start of the semester to the very end, and whatever you have calculated will be your overall grade. High school and college are very different in terms of academics and how challenging they are, but it is not understandable why the grading criteria is not consistent for both of these institutions.…

Well respected and esteemed 26th president, Abraham Lincoln, once said, “the philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.” The experiences and education an individual receives during their youth through schooling is an essential part of how one can prosper and succeed in future society. Such experiences and knowledge sets the key foundation to enable an individual to be more informed and open-minded about numerous aspects and parts of life. However, although it’s useful to broaden an individual’s understanding of topics and subjects present in the current society, intelligence should be defined not solely as reasoning and factual knowledge. Rather, it should be equally about promoting and nurturing one’s creativity and divergent thinking through the use of divergent curriculum and encouragement of such through both proficient and esteemed…
The education of students in the K-12 grade levels has evolved over the past several years. In today’s classrooms across most of the United States the Common Core State Standards are in place. If these standards are not in place there are others like them adopted.
