LaToya,

It is wonderful to meet you, I also have three dogs and understand the time it takes to care for three dogs.

What caught my eye in your post was the student you had in your class that had a one on one aid. Taking notes and escorting him everywhere was certainly in his IEP. He possibly had a processing disorder that prevented him from writing and listening at the same time, or he simply couldn't write yet. I know from personal experience that getting a one on one is very hard to do with in the FAPE. There has to be a clear need for the extra cost to the school. My son has traditions issues which stems from processing issues, I was not granted a one on one so instead I hired a private ABA specialist to join him for two hours to help

The school psychologist, although acknowledging that Jeremy had a learning disability of attention deficit disorder (ADD), which allowed for an IEP and services, felt that it was not sever enough to be a contributing factor to his behavior. He felt that Jeremy’s primary behavior was largely related to his failure to work, cooperate, and school truancies rather than his primarily disability of ADD. Survival of the Sickest Analysis In Charles Darwin’s theory of natural selection, Darwin suggests that those organisms that possess certain characteristics that give them an advantage over other organisms, are to be more likely to survive and pass on their traits to other organisms of their species through reproduction. Thus, through evolution, all life on earth is bound to only get stronger and improve its chances of survival - or be completely eradicated, as the organisms that do not possess advantageous traits do not survive to reproduce and the traits that make a species weaker will gradually be eliminated. However, though evolution eliminates unfavorable traits it has allowed countless…
