Through the use of photo ethnography observational research was found to provide insight. Positive and negative attributes were found through this process. This research focused on the Suburban areas of Oakville and Windsor, in comparison to the urban regions of Montreal and Toronto. With a lackluster transportation system it is clear to see that Oakville is a town for the rich. Mottled only with small plazas and parks, wide expanses of homes dominate the landscape of Oakville. The cookie cutter plazas provide the community with basic commodities, while a small downtown core offers key points of interest. One point of interest found is a trendy pub by the name of Brü; this pub offers live music and a comfortable atmosphere for socialization. The focus was on craft beer and food and was not necessarily a place for art. Art was found inside of the Whole Foods grocery store. Once inside of the store, patrons visiting the café will see a wall featuring the art of a local artist. Although this space is freely accessed by all, it is a grocery store designed for the upper class. People shopping were well dressed, while many luxury vehicles sat in the parking lot. In Miles end there is an abundance of coffee houses and small venues for music, not far from here I also came across an interesting space. This space named “La petite Floride”, was what used to be empty land in a commercial area. The space has been converted to house a stage, as well as a bar cafe inside of a converted bus and many benches, hay bales and tables. This space is free for anyone to use and encourages people to explore, this space is used year round and hosts many events. I visited this space on a cold afternoon, and while there was no set event many people were sitting around enjoying themselves. Spaces like these encourage
