This poster shows that guilt was used to encourage recruitment into the war because the words used depict a sense of disappointment from fathers, whose sons did not enlist in the war. The images enhance this sense of guilt being portrayed in the poster. Bibliography Details (APA Style) Weston, H. J. (1918) National Library of Australia: Digital Collections Pictures. Recently my classmates and I took a peregrination to the Conodoguinet Creek. On this peregrination, we performed many tests to determine the health of the Conodoguinet Creek. The test we performed ranged from alkalinity test to pH testing and through these tests we were able to determine the health of the creek. The Conodoguinet creek is a branch of the Susquehanna River in PA U.S.A. Approximately the creek is around 90 miles long and the watershed of the creek is about 200 square miles.…
Compensation is the maintenance of the levels of physiological processes, despite changes in temperature. This experiment was coordinated to determine whether crayfish will show metabolic compensation when acclimated to various temperatures. The findings of this study show that temperature had no effect on crayfish oxygen consumption. The oxygen consumption for both the warm and cold acclimated crayfish was almost the same, despite the opposite direction of the temperature change. The results of this study therefore support the hypothesis.…
Northern Elephant Seal project Northern Elephant Seal project Description These seals are named Elephant seals because adult males have large noses that look like an elephant's trunk. Adult males could grow to over 13 feet in length and weigh up to 4,500 pounds. The females, however, are much smaller than the males. They could grow over 10 feet in length and 1,500 pounds.…
Loggerhead Turtles In this image, there is a beach and there is a large caution sign for people to know that this area is restricted. Some letters are in bold and in all caps, while other writing underneath this is in a smaller font and all lower case. Underneath the smaller font it says,” Protected by Federal and State Laws.”…
While using this (Discovery of the Mississippi) and any source a historian should take into account values such as: how reliable is the source, and how can it be applied to the thing you are using it for. Also a historian should take into a limitations such as: Is there any clear bias in the source, is the source objective or subjective, and generally how reliable is this source. To start this source is very reliable and since this project is about the source it is very useful. There is no clear bias in the source, and the source is objective. Overall this source is reliable.…
There are many biotic factors that are being impacted in the lake’s ecosystem. However, the most affected animals include the crayfish, clams, and mayfly. Crayfish need calcium in order to maintain a healthy exoskeleton. However, when a lake’s pH decreases, most of the minerals diminish as well. Affecting the crayfish in the process as they are weak and their source of food is being limited as well.…
The first website I evaluated was titled Wonderopolis. I would say Wonderopolis is a reliable resource; the reason why I say this is because when you read the “about section”, you can notice right away all the awards and recognitions Wonderopolis has. This proves that it is a trusted and credible website. Wonderopolis was created in October 2010, and is still a functioning website. It does not seem to have a specific audience target but I would assume is mostly used for elementary and middle school.…
The domain of the source is “.gov” which means the US Government is in control of the website. An assumption can be made that all the information is legitimate, because it is under the supervision of the government. The author of the article is Mae Bowen, however there is no background knowledge of the author. The author has a bias tone towards the topic, which is the Civil Rights Act. The tone the author presents about the topic is positive.…
We hypothesized that higher levels of serotonin will have an effect on the crayfish aggression. Our data does not support our hypothesis as there is no significant difference in the aggression scores of the crayfish before the drug treatment (naïve fight) and after (drugged fight). While analyzing the data, we found the presence of winner and loser effect. Other factor such as sex may have influenced our results. However, a t- test revealed that there is no significant impact of sex on the aggression of the crayfish.…
The Hardy-Weinberg equation is p² + 2pq + q² =1 (Daempfle, 2016). P in the equation equals the proportion of dominant alleles in a population and q equals the proportion of recessive alleles within a population. The homozygous dominant in the equation are given as p². Given this equation and the information from the questions p equal .01 so q would equal .99. The square root of .01 is 0.1.…
Secondary sources are literary criticism, biography, and history. The type of essay that you use will determine which type of source that you will need. Unless you are told otherwise, secondary sources are supposed to be used as an addition to your argument. It’s also important to be able to decide if your secondary source is factual or opinion. Chapter 30 also talks about using research to generate topic…
“The Difference between Alligators and Crocodiles” Plenty of people confuse the alligators and crocodiles, as they are both large, scaly animals of prey. What most people do not think of is that while they are very alike in some ways, they are two extremely different, yet super frightening hunters. Both of these reptiles are members of the reptilian family Crocodylia, however they are from two different families. There are a sum of 25 types of crocodilians (belonging to the Crocodylia family), including these two. Crocodilians date back 260 million years, that’s 65 million years more than the dinosaurs.…
Primary sources are useful for empirical research because the information has not been manipulated so you get the original context of data. It is also written in a first hand experience or observation. Primary resources have precise detail of the data, reports, and methodology that will help you in your research. Peer-reviewed journals are important sources for research because they hold high credibility. The information in these journals are formatted in a specific way.…
All these things were created first hand by someone at a specific time. The diary of Ann Frank is also a great example of a primary source. Her actual diary that was retrieved shares with us actual events and allows us to see what life was like through her eyes with her diary. Other primary sources are things like surveys and results. If you take a look at this year’s…
