Teens everywhere are excited when they can drive. "Tennessee allows drivers to get a learners permit at the age of 15. To earn a graduated driver’s license, you must have held your learners permit for six months, be at least 16 years old, and complete a log providing you have practiced driving for at least 50 hours.” (ct.gov) All they can think about is driving and the freedom that come with driving. For many teens, driving is the first step to being adult because they have freedom to do almost anything they want. They go visit their friends, go to the mall, go get food, and drive to work. Learning how to drive and getting your license is the most important thing for a teenager. But many teens fail to think about the responsibilities and consequences of driving. Teens never stop to think about the millions of other drivers. As a teen, I can say my first reason for wanting to drive to get to work and to get out of the house. I never think about how my driving affects other people on the road.
