In all settings the environment should be warm, inviting, well laid out, spacious and cater for the needs of the children attending the setting. Siolta our national quality framework for early childhood education recognise the importance of both the indoor and outdoor environment in children learning. One of their twelve principle is environments, as is one of their standards standard 2 environments. The indoor environment should be safe, warm well planned and spacious.
