1.1 Safeguarding is everyones responsibility, and legal requirements are to protect children from maltreatment, prevent ill health, ensure consistent care provisions and take action to ensure all children have consistent access to it. It is a legal requirement of all people working with children, have an up to date disclosing baring service check (DBS) and employers must make sure employees who have harmed a child are refered to the service. Another legal requirement is yo follow the child protection policy which includes making the welfare of the child most important, not discriminating of favouring any groups of, or individual children, equality without exception regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality etc and for protection policies to be accessed by all who work with children. It is a legal requirement for all concerns and allegations to be taken seriously by trustees and to be taken to the LADO if against staff or in an emergency. We do risk assessments daily to ensure safety of the children and all staff are DBS checked. We have in house meeting regularly about how to safeguard the children and to know who to go to ( the manager or deputy) if we have any concerns, or the LADO if it is a a concern about them. We have training on how to look out for signs of abuse and complete questionnaires. I was given the safeguarding policies to look at when I first stared which I was to sign to ensure I understood
