Institution Risk Factors That Impact on an Activity of Daily Living (ADL) For a Stroke Patient
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are chores that individuals do on a daily basis such as work, training, vacation and personal activities including: washing clothes, bathing and undressing. When an individual is unable to do these activities, they should be helped to make their lives better. My focus is on impact of stroke on psychosocial wellbeing of an individual.
The main points are as follows: what determine the degree of disturbance and the psychosocial impact on the patient, how stroke affect family members and care givers and recovery of the patient.
The level of disability depends on severity of the disease and level of cognitive deficits. In the healing, patients are confused. The degree of disturbance is usually determined by the severity of the stroke, they may be very frightened or fuming and emotional, which results to unsuitable behavior. To other members of the family, they might appear to be a different individual. For the reason that they have continued cognitive troubles, counseling is ineffective.
