The economy had an overreliance on slave labor which means that many working class people were left without jobs. This did not leave them happy but very irritated. This could have caused some people to abandon their civic duties and some would stop having pride in being a Roman. One of the more important reasons why the society contributed to the fall of the roman empire is the rise of Christianity. This changed their morals and values that the romans were famous for. They lost all that they have stood for since the empire first started. The rise of Christianity moved their focus away from the glory of the state. This made the church people take an advanced role in the government just making it more difficult. Christianity made all of the roman virtues disappear and they were never to be found
