At 6am, an American aircraft spotted two of the four Japanese aircraft carriers.Admiral Nagumo,a Japanese admiral,did not expect the presence of the American aircraft carriers yet. Around 7am the dive bombers and torpedo bombers of the advancing American carriers were launched to attack the Japanese carriers.
