World War II has been considered one of the most horrendous tragedies to ever occur in history. Violence,hostility,death and aggression dominated the 1930’s in certain European nations.In this essay I will explain the major battles of World War II. One of the major battles in World War II is Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941 the japanese launched a surprise attack on the U.S Naval Base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii using bombers, torpedo bombers, and midget submarines. Nobody knew that several flights of Japanese warplanes were already in the air and needed towards of the islands. Many families had lost loved ones. Some Americans just wouldn't look at Japanese people the same. Many still think of it look at it as an attack, but it could be looked at as a new beginning for America. Besides Pearl Harbor there are many other battles like the Battle of Midway . The Battle of Midway was a naval battle between the U.S and Japan that took place between 4th and 7th of June 1942.This battle took place about 6 months after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. The battle of Midway was the high water mark for the Japanese.This battle was the turning point in the war and the first major victory for the Allies in the Pacific. At 6am, an American aircraft spotted two of the four Japanese aircraft carriers.Admiral Nagumo,a Japanese admiral,did not expect the presence of the American aircraft carriers yet. Around 7am the dive bombers and torpedo bombers of the advancing American carriers were launched to attack the Japanese carriers. In the end the Japanese lost the battle and a lot of their navy soldiers. If they were to have better code than the US would have never broke the code to figure out when and what their planes
