During this month we were learning about rhetoric devices how they affect the way we see things. What I mean by that is how we read, what's shown to us through pictures, commercials, and speeches. Those people who show that to us are using rhetorical devices such ethos, pathos, and logos. To change the way of emotion of how encounter things, to try and persuade us into what they are trying to say, sell, and get a message through. Mainly I have seen commercials use this to try and let people know that what they are selling is the best of the best, or others putting posters up to advertise their products. So, yes I could say that is very effective for those wanting to advertise or get people’s attention.

In a commercial it can show a dog locked up and injured and ask for donations. Right there they are using pathos, to show you something sad to make you feel bad and to give donation because you don’t want to seem heartless. Like it’s giving you emotion so you should show emotion back. Yet, that is how they use pathos in those types of situations, so the public can give money to a charity that help those in need.
Logos, are actually mainly used in a type of argument like debates. Yes you can use ethos to convince people in a debate, but logos are mainly to have a well stated argument with facts. This is used in an everyday argument and it’s mainly for people to reason with others. To make sense of things while arguing with the other person.
