In 1854 there was slavery African Americans couldn’t vote, or even have a say so on anything. African Americans couldn’t have any rights to anything, and they had owners. During slavery times African Americans had to get beaten, and white people bought them for slaves. Today there is no slavery, or slave leaders, everyone has a right to freedom of speech. Fremont, won 11 out of the 16 Northern states.Abraham Lincoln won the election, and became president. Thomas Jefferson was the one that named it Republican Party. Today we have an election that has eight, or more people. Also they go in the election, and go until there’s only two people at the end. Once there’s two people, then they will vote for one of them to be president. Once one of the candidates win they can only be president for either one, or two terms.
The US wasn’t a whole back then, all the states were separated by different people. Some people couldn’t go one state because of their race. Others couldn’t because they did something wrong, and weren’t allowed back. Today the US is one nation, and people can go anywhere they want, and all the states have a name. The US gives people a chance to be an American. They let people from other countries come to our country. The US is one whole nation
