Breast cancer is a neoplastic disease that starts in the tissues of the breast. Over the course of a life time, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Just like many other types of cancers, there are many risk factors that unfortunately cannot be changed no matter how you live your life. Cancer is a mutation, or abnormal changes, in the genes responsible for regulating the growth of cells and keeping them healthy.
