In each class, whenever there was a Father 's Day or any other events involving dad I would get very sad and missed my dad not knowing that he was in America. He had sent me countless surprising gifts that cheered me up. At the same time I missed him even more and wished that he was there with us. A few years later, it was my first day of first grade and I wore a new dress with black shoes that my dad had sent me as my first grade gift all the way from America. I was still living with my mom’s cousins family, was going to school and was trying hard to have fun. I had tests but, my mom was not there to help me study but my cousins helped me a lot to prepare for all of my tests. It was fun sleeping with them at night and playing around. When ever my mom came to visit me at her cousins house, I would ask her “mom when will be able to see dad?” She answered saying that “me and your dad are trying very hard and it will be very soon”. A few weeks later, my mom and I went to Delhi immigration embassy which was 7 hours away from our house for an interview. They asked me many questions with and without my mom in the room. They had said that I was not their child so, they asked my mom to get a DNA tested on me. Which proved that I was their child.
