Medical Marijuana Legalization Mr. Carter was 14 when he experienced the first violent seizure of his life. During the seizure he toppled face first onto a tiled floor in front of his dad. Carter is now 19 and still experiences violent seizures at least several times a month. Each seizure causes extreme stress on his body and is possibly life threatening. Mr. Carter is able to recognize when he is about to experience a seizure by a sensation he calls “clouds in my head.” Fortunately, Mr. Carter has found a drug that can make his seizures less frequent and decrease their intensity. It would be beneficial for the federal government to legalize medical marijuana because it has already been proven to be beneficial for the treatment of many diseases and chronic ailments, legalizing medical marijuana would allow for the study of even more uses for prevention, cure and management of health ailments, and legalizing medical marijuana would enable it to be covered under insurance plans, eliminating some of the more costly options for medical treatments. *** Doctors can cure and treat people without people hoping and praying their family member will make it and it won't cost a lot of money for families to try to cure their family members. Even if Medical Marijuana was legal then it would still cost too much and people still wouldn't be able to get the amount they needed. Even though Mr.Carter has been on many broadcasts and radio stations the still can't get the amount he needs if they were to pay out of pocket it would cost 16,000 Australian dollars or $12,500 U.S. dollars and that is just to get as close as he can to his dose they can't get the right strength it is not available in Australia yet.
