Utilizing scientific knowledge and numerous sets of technical skills engineering is a professional discipline that has put man on the moon and will take humanity far beyond in to the stars. To design, innovate and advance technological solutions for the world is the modern engineer’s purpose in life. Engineering consists of four chief branches, civil engineering, electrical engineering; chemical engineering and mechanical engineering (Engineering, 2014). This paper will cover three of the four engineering fields.
Electrical engineering is the study and application of electricity and electromagnetism. This field emerged in the 19th century after the commercialization of electricity in the forms of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electric power distribution. The developments of the transistor, integrated circuit, witch lead to the modern

Mechanical Engineering can be historically traced back to ancient Greece and China, where mechanisms such as screw pumps, steam engines were invented (Mechanical, 2014). Armed with Newton’s Laws of Motion and calculus mechanical engineers have contributed countless innovations to the success of humanity throughout history.
Scientific research and development and the business of manufacturing are some key undertakings practiced by Mechanical Engineers. Mechanical engineers work in teams and are responsible for the development of an extensive diversity of products and systems including, for instance, the space shuttle, aircraft carriers, submarines, jet turbines, pumps, and power plants. In fact all aspects of our national defense utilize and depend on mechanical engineering. Practically any machine you can think of has benefited from the hard work and innovations of a mechanical

The observation process has helped experiencing the working life of a mechanical engineer and the sector atmosphere. The most significant part of the summer internship was applying the theoretical knowledge in practical world. The theoretical knowledge which is gained by the Mech 201 (Statics), Mech 202 (Material Science) and Mech 204 (Thermodynamics) become more meaningful when its applications have been observed in the engineering systems and production process. Getting involved in a production process helps to see how production operations run, to observe the unpredictable real problems which has been occurred during the production process and finding…

But Wisnioski has also acknowledged the position education takes in the society, as a pillar to society’s success. He has made it understandable to the readers and users of this book that engineers cannot be without receiving the requisite knowledge in the field. This makes the book just what it is made to be in this…

Encouraging young women to enroll in engineering programs prompts the concern of how to maintain female involvement, especially when the material becomes increasingly challenging. Researchers for The American Association of University Women, pursued the question of why so few women are involved in science, math, engineering, and mathematics, and concluded in their 2010 publication, “Students who lack confidence in their math or science skills are less likely to engage in tasks that require those skills and will more quickly give up in the face of difficulty” (Hill, Corbett, and St. Rose 22). The central issue here is not wildly different than learning how to ride a bike or starting at a new school because all require a common remedy: encouragement to continue. When young students…
