Chow, liberty, and sleep. These three items are the essentials that make a Marine Happy. The role of a Sergeant of Marines is to ensure that the mission gets accomplished first before the Marines get released. At times, Marines will get tired and worn out but as Marines, we have a duty to our Corps and country. We are the nation’s 1st line of defense so must be ready when the nations least ready. The roles and responsibilities of a Sergeant and of Marines is long and broad. Ultimately the Sergeant is in charge of his/her subordinate Marines.
