Macbeth being a “murderer” is what lead him to becoming king is what most people said. King Duncan I was a very bad leader and did not lead Scotland as well as Macbeth was proven to do. Duncan had fled back to Scotland after leading dangerous campaign into Northumbria. At this time Macbeth was described by chronicles that he could be a “liberal king who has a ruddy countenance”(Hartson). By a liberal king they meant that he will be more open to new behaviors and opinion of others. He will be able to see new behaviors that are either good or bad and make his decisions based on them. A ruddy countenance was someone who gave support to others. After killing Duncan I he became king for 14 years. Scotland at this time was “peaceful Scotland” how everyone said (Hartson). He was a great leader who ruled equably and encouraged christianity. Earlier in Macbeth’s life he went to a christian school which then he was able to use what he learned to help him become a great leader. Everything that Macbeth went through to become king was part of what he learned growing
