Keratosis pilaris, also known as chicken skin disease, is a condition in which the skin's surface become rough and appear small bumps similar to acne. Keratosis pilaris generally does not cause pain or itching, and can be white or red.

Keratosis pilaris usually appears on the skin of the arms, thighs, buttocks, and cheek. Keratosis pilaris can also appear in the eyebrows, face, or scalp. If teens and children have keratosis pilaris, then they can be heal by itself while growing up.

No one type of treatment that can cure keratosis pilaris, because in most cases, this condition can be cured by itself. Most treatment option is only intended to soften pile of keratin on the skin. Some types of treatment for keratosis pilaris are:

Use moisturizer. The goal when treating keratosis pilaris is overcome the bumps. One of the best ways to do is applying lotions or creams regularly 1-2 times a day.
