According to Benjamin Franklin, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” however, the premise of obtaining higher education, in recent years, has been increasingly debated over. The main question being: is college worth it? Critics deterred by the thought of attending colleges argue that colleges not only wastes precious time, but also deprives students of money; burying them under a mountain of debt. However, these people fail to comprehend the benefits college brings. Benefits such as allowing college graduates to earn, on average, significantly more than high school graduates, students are able to obtain a liberal arts education, and college is a worthwhile investment.
