unshot wound is my essay topic for Emergency Class. First I would like to explain more less what is a Gunshot wound. Gunshot injury may appear when someone is shot by some sharp bullet what in most cases it is a gun. Gunshot may appear during variety of situations not only during criminal or terrorist incidents. Gunshot wound are one of the most traumatic injuries because people might be hurt very quick and find them self in unexpected shock. Always put direct pressure to the wound. Carefully assess the situation to determine that there is any worrying signs. There is another way to put the pressure – apply indirect pressure. This is done by putting pressure on arteries, hard veins in case of treating wound or arm or leg. Thanks to applying that pressure on them we can limited internal bleeding. In case if bleeding is extremely serve and there is bandage or some piece if material available we can consider to make a tourniquet. There is a little different situation if the bullet has penetrate chest. In this situation air is coming in through the wound but not coming out, collapsing the lung. There is few major signs and symptoms of sucking chest wound coughing up blood frothy blood coming from the wound, shortness of breath. During chest injury it is important to remove cloths and if some material is stuck to the wound cut, it around. We have to check victim well to diagnose if applying pressure should be on both sides. Seal the wound all around carefully and with precision. When we did what we only could for the victim, there is last thing we should take care: monitor patient ABC when the victim is conscious or watching the chest.
