Cell phones are what the Federal Communications Commission refers to as “distracted driving” (FCC.gov). Talking or playing on the phone while driving can lead to circumstances that could change someone’s life. When people look at their phones, their eyes leave the road. How many people look at their phones when they drive? “Forty percent of all American teens say they have been in a car when the driver used a cell phone in a way that put people in danger” (PewInternet.org). If forty percent of people who use their phones and drive in American than imagine the percentage of the entire world. Everybody needs to take in consideration that driving is like a job. People do not whip their phone out at a job, so they should also not nonchalantly look at their phones while they are driving. Even though people only glance at their phone for a few seconds, the upcoming road could drastically change. Before someone should drive a vehicle, he/she should either put their cell phone away or put it on silent. Make the choice that will not badly affect someone else’s life. Think about the consequences of picking up the cell phone because the decision can either have a positive or negative affect.
