Conformity vs Individuality: “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” We all want to be us but we are scared people will judge us and sometimes we wont fit in. If you want to be different, then do it! You don't have to listen to other people. It seems like if we are not doing what everyone else is, they call us different. Why does conformity have more value in our society over individuality? The definition of individuality is the quality or character of a particular person or thing that distinguishes them from others of the same kind, especially when strongly marked. A synonym for individuality is like being an outsider. Being an outsider is being different from others.

However some people are too scared and embarrassed of what others think. In fact, these are two reasons why people conform. A article named "The Sociology of Leopard Man" by Logan Feys is about a guy who loves to be a leopard. He acts, looks, and eats like a leopard. He does what he wants and he likes to do it, he doesn't care what people think.
Individuality can save your life. In the social experiment “Dangerous Conformity” by Dr. Philip Zimbardo he proves that conformity is dangerous. In the social experiment, there are paid actors in a room and 1 victim. If the door has smoke coming from the bottom, would you leave? People will stay in the room if other people would stay. If you don't conform it can save your life sometimes.

In the short film "WYFFT? - Will People Follow The Crowd In An Elevator Experiment??" people are facing the back of the elevator. There are like 8 people facing the back and when the victim goes in the elevator they are confused. After a while they will turn around slowly. And they would face the back of the elevator. They just confirmed and didn't realize it. I think people conform because they don't want to be the only on doing something
