The Columbine school shooting was a mass murder of students and teachers at Columbine high school. The shooters Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris had been be planning this attack for about a year before they opened fire on the 20th of April in 1999. Dylan and Eric unleashed, killing 15 people total, 12 of which being students and one teacher. The other two? The other two people killed were Dylan and Eric, they took their own lives away. It would become the 5th deadliest school shooting in American history. The shooting was only a small portion of the plan by Dylan and Eric. They had bombs planted and ready to go but one of the two messed up on the timers, and the bombs did not go off. The pair had planted the bombs in the school and on other students and staff members cars! They were going to blow those bombs up when police and news vehicles arrived so that the death total would grow even larger. They wanted to gun down students and teachers running out of the school, and then when the time was right, they would blow up the …show more content…
“What caused this shooting?” “Was it because they played violent video games?” “How could those kids get guns so easily?” In the future we know that gun laws have become strict and they have continued to get even more strict, this is one of the effects from columbine. There were other events that lead to gun control but columbine was a major catalyst. People tried to blame the shooting on the video games Dylan and Eric used to play. The two were very into a game by the name of ‘Doom.’ Many tried to so that doom was the cause, but there is no way it can be, in doom you aren’t killing other humans, you are killing aliens and things not even on our planet! If the two can’t tell the difference between the real world and the virtual world, that in itself is a much bigger problem than the game. Once again future shootings would lead to more people protesting shooting or violent
