While the bible teaches forgiveness, it is obvious from the lion king that his uncle (although seeking forgiveness from Simba) was evil and wanted Simba’s throne. Simba seemed to have forgiven his uncle but then when he turned his back, his uncle attacked him inorder to destroy him, this led to Simba fighting back – this might be seen as a defiance of God’s will.
After Simba listened to his uncle and disobeyed his dad he was powerless, his dad could not save him but his friends could, this might be because (evidenced from other Disney films), Disney believe that people do not need God to protect them from the influences of evil, what people need is strength …show more content…
In the words of Simba’s father “look within you, you are more than this”. This could explain some of the differences in the stories as Disney attempts to make the lion king more acceptable by society and hence more commercial in terms of marketing purposes.
