The monitor is attached at the hospital the wore for 24-72 hours. Like the ECG, it looks for any inconsistencies in the heart beat, usually done when nothing is found on the ECG
Echocardiogram
• Uses sounds waves to create and image of the heart that can be displayed on a screen. Also displays how the heart is operating.
Cardiac Catheterization
• This test is a evasive because a short tube is installed in the patients leg within a vein or artery. A smaller tube is inserted through the first tube and pushed in until it reaches the patient’s heart. This is used to measure the amount of pressure with the heart muscles. This also shows the doctors how the blood is flowing throughout the patient’s whole heart, also can be sued to check for inconsistencies.
Cardiac Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan
• This is test is done while the patient is lying on a table, also most commonly seen on tv medical shows. The table is the moved into a bigger circle shaped machine that collects rotating images of the heart allowing medical professionals to see different angles using x-rays.
