The Bulls that are fought are on average 4 years old. The Bulls weighs around 1,300 pounds. The bullfighting season in Spain is from March to October. Bull fighters are paid on average 45,000 dollars per year (answers.com). Bullfighting has been around for about 300 years. Although bullfighting has been very popular in the last 300 years it is losing its popularity.
Bullfighting should be banned because of the killing and torturing of the bulls. The bulls are tortured before the fight even starts. Before the fight the bulls are kept in a box disorienting them, they are also poked with needles that drug them. During the actually fight the bulls are stabbed with multiply spear like weapons, causing the animal to bleed large amounts. At the end of the fight the bulls brutally killed while a whole crowd watches. This “sport” is very barbaric and needs to be stopped and banned wherever this event still takes (Lisa Markkula,
