The Amtrak train station in Wilmington Delaware is a huge train depo that shuffles hundreds of people out of Delaware into other states. In today’s world, there seems to be plenty of organizations that are out to cause terror and fear. And with the Amtrak station being a very populated space there is potential for various indirect threats. These threats are implied or are always being thought about. But being a train depot what is its main purpose, who poses a threat/ what weapons would they use and what would happen if this sight was attacked.

The Wilmington Amtrak station is a large station that houses hundreds of people and any form of attack or threat would prove devastating to many that are inside the station. These threats can happen due to the overwhelming fact that Americans think train stations are not dangerous. Many Americans believe that planes are the real dangerous object during an emergency. In 2002 and 2011, there were 203 deaths on airplanes, but nearly four times as many, 804, on commuter trains and subways. (Sherman, E. (2012, October 25). Trains face greater terror threat than planes.) that may have come to a shock to you as it did for me. These attackers want to make you feel unsafe even in the safest of places. It is hard to say which specific group would attack stations like this if of any group at all. Most likely the attackers would be self-motivated extremists that want to cause mass chaos either to prove a point or to impress other extremist groups.
