"By 1300, the rulers of Zimbabwe had organized a large kingdom." (84) Zimbabwe got most of their power from their gold mines. They made beautiful stone buildings that have withstood centuries and were expert craftsmen in stone and architecture. The people of Zimbabwe built many temples and palaces which can conclude that the Zimbabwe people must have had wealth and prosperity. They trade with many different countries including China for their porcelain and India for their beads. Even though most of the townspeople were farmers and herders the rulers of the kingdom became very wealthy in gold trade.
In conclusion, everyone should refute the statement that all African kingdoms were uncivilized and that Africa has always been poor and inferior.
