What was 9/11 about? On September 11, 2001, a highly planned attack was made by 19 terrorists of a group called the al-Qaeda, an Islamic extremist. They hijacked four commercial airplanes that hit several places where about 3,000 innocent people died during this event. The first two planes flew into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centers in New York City, Manhattan. At 8:46 a.m. the first plane, Flight 11, crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center and soon after, the second plane, Flight 175, crashed at 9:03 a.m. in the south tower of the World Trade Center which was in New York City, Manhattan. At 9:37 a.m. the third plane, Flight 77, crashes into Pentagon and the last plane crashes at 10:03 in a field in Pennsylvania.

I also learned that we should help the people around us during these kinds of situations because what if you were in their situation. I also learned that we shouldn’t respond to these circumstances with fear and anger. We also should be aware of our surrounding and look if something is not right. I also learned that we should help our country become a better country.
9/11 was important to the increase in the American patriotic ideas because people became more engaged in what our communities. Patriotism and volunteerism increased after 9/11 happened. Not only did we become engaged in our community, but we became more politically engaged. People became more and more aware of what is happening in our country and helping our community become a better place. 9/11 increased the number of people engaging in their community and country that helped America a greater place.
We as Americans can make sure that 9/11 does not happen again by being more aware of our surroundings. We could make stricter policies that regulate who and what goes in and out of our country. This makes us be more aware of the people coming to our country. We should make an advanced technology that will airplanes detect if they are going to crash into something like modern car have. We should also make sturdier building that won’t make buildings collapse
