In this stage he states that the age of adolescence is twelve to eighteen and during this stage, the adolescents develops a sense of self and investigate their independence. According to Erikson’s during each stage, people must confront developmental conflict and resolve to develop the primary virtue in this stage. Why Louisa shouldn’t use marijuana? There are several reasons why she should not use marijuana. There are several negative effects on adolescents who use marijuana. There can be different deficits of the brain both structural and functional. These deficits can cause her to develop weakened communication and verbal skills, the capability to learn can be lowered and her attention span can be shortened if she smokes marijuana.
Marijuana’s effects on attention and memory will make it difficult for Louisa to learn something new or do complex tasks that require focus and concentration. If she decided to participate in sports smoking could affect how she times things, the way she moves, and how she coordinates which could harm her performance as an athlete.
Louisa’s judgment could also be clouded using marijuana. This clouded judgement could lead to risky behavior for her. For instance, she may find herself in a risky situation with the person who is offering her the marijuana. Being around this person who does marijuana may influence her more than if she was around someone who does not use
