(A face of disappointment) Have I ain't taught you anything growing up? (Talking in a medium tone voice) I am so disappointed in you. You have made a huge life decision without even talking or consulting with me. I thought I meant more to you, but I guess
I was wrong. I don't care what you do with your life, just leave and go run away to Africa.

BENEATHA (Talking hesitantly) But but ma, can we please just talk about this?

MAMA (Talking in a very loud voice) NO! you made your decision. (Saying in a softer voice) I have given you so much and sacrificed many things for you. Even though I don't have the money to pay for medical school doesn't mean you have to leave me. (Mama crying and breaking down into tears)

BENEATHA (Gives mama a hug and whispers in her ear) Oh mama I don't want to leave you. You think I want to leave? I feel like it would be best for me to move to Africa and become a doctor. I want to work hard and make money for the family just like grandpa did for us . If you don't think I am blessed and thankful for everything you have done for me, you are wrong. I love you so much Mama I don't know what I would do without you.

MAMA (Looks at Beneatha still crying) I love you too baby, ain't nothing ever gonna change that you hear
