Energizer Communication In Children

Decent Essays
Activity: energizer communication

Aim: To challenge children’s ability to think creatively.
Time duration: 15 minutes.
Size of Group: Unlimited.
Tools needed: Scrap paper for everyone.
Exercise:
Give each child a single sheet of paper and ask them to make a plane that flies. Each child will more than likely be successful and also be able to demonstrate for others having problems. Next ask that they use a fresh sheet of paper to create a new flying machine. Allow them the same amount of time to look for an entirely new design—a revolutionary new airborne machine that must fly.
In all likelihood, very few will succeed. Most will build upon or slightly alter the conventional design. When all have finished, take a piece of paper, crush it

    a. The child’s first goal in her original task of creating a machine to make spaghetti is to put a pole in the hole of one box and put the other side of the pole into the hole of another box, so they are connected. She observes that the pole will not go through the hole in the box. She then takes off the ribbed cylinders on each side pole, and slides the boxes with holes in them back down the poles. Her goal is still trying to place a pole in the side hole of one cube to connect it to the cube parallel of it. She observes that the pole will still not go through the holes of the cube.…

While watching the students answer the questions, I noticed that several of them never lined up the paper slip with the bat or any of the other objects they were measuring. Their endpoints never lined up, causing them to incorrectly answer the first six questions. This lack of knowledge went to further diminish their conceptual understanding of how to take the third object and measure the first two objects to compare them. This lack understanding also affected their ability to correctly order three objects from shortest to longest. The mathematical reasoning was either a hit or miss with the students.…

Thank you all for coming to our Sacred Hearts 7th grade classroom to teach us the history of Barnstorming and Bernoulli's Principle and Newton's Third Law Of Motion through scientific experiments/demonstrations. Now I know how lift is generated for a plane and how hard it is to control an airplane wing through changing wind conditions. Your guys visit has made me more aware and knowledgeable of how an airplane flies and how Bernoulli's Principle and Newton's Third Law of Motion is a big part of the plane being able to move. During your guys barnstorming visit I learned some cool experiments that you guys demonstrated to represent Bernoulli's Principle. I really enjoyed controlling the airplane wing with Jordyn and trying to blow out the ping…

On October 15th, 2015 Caitlin, Christy and I visited the Long Island Children Museum to learn more about fun activities to do with children for a science lesson. When we first got there and looked around the first floor we all looked at each other because we didn’t think we would find anything here that had to do with science. After walking around the first floor for a little bit, we realized there were two sections here that had to deal with science. The first section we realized was called Bubbles and we didn’t go in it right away because there were so many little children in there and we didn’t want to bother them. So, then we went to the second section on the first floor which was called the Tool Box.…

Infants learn conversational skills through routinized activities, which includes game playing and daily routines (Owens, 012, p. 139). You mentioned some good language games that mothers and caregivers can play with infants that would help with their language development. I believe that the more the parents and caregiver talks to the infant, the more conversational and social skills they will develop. Do you think that infants will be able to develop these skills if their parents or caregiver does not interact with them?…

Spontaneous curriculum that may have emerged from the children’s curiosity or interests consisted of what would fit inside the oven and what could not fit. The children open a play doctor kit and they all looked into each other’s ears. One female took the lead in this area and seemed to assert herself as head physician for the group. Teacher demonstrates flexibility when facilitating activities when there would be an eruption of what is “mine” and “no” between the children over a toy. Expressive language is the theme for this group.…
