Endoscopy Research Paper

Endoscopy and bronchoscopy doctors undergo most of the same training as other doctors, and then they take additional training to develop special skills. A typical course of training includes a four-year undergraduate degree, followed by four years of medical school, to acquire their M.D. degree and qualify for a medical license. After that, they usually complete a three-year residency program in internal medicine, and a three to four year fellowship in Gastroenterology of pulmonary medicine. Board exams must pass after medical school, Residency, and Fellowship. During the fellowship, the doctors learn to perform a wide variety of endoscopy or bronchoscopy procedures, and learn how to skillfully handle and maneuver the scopes and related equipment, in order to get meaningful results. A few of the endoscopists learned their skills as part of a residency in general or colorectal surgery rather than Internal Medicine.

Some of the procedures they do can include Upper Endoscopy also called (EGD) to examine the esophagus and stomach, colonoscopy to examine the large intestine, and more complicated procedures to examine and treat problems in the bile ducts and pancreas.
