This paper will explain what every woman, teenager, and parents who have female daughters needs to know about endometrial cancer, It is important for women to educate themselves about this common disease, but it is also important for parents. If you have abnormal vaginal bleeding that is not related to menses, if there is a clear vaginal discharge, If you have long and or heavy bleeding after the age of 40, difficult or painful urination, pain in the pelvic area, and if you feel any kind of pain after intercourse that it is time to call your doctor and get an appointment to make sure nothing major is going …show more content…
A woman may have vaginal bleeding along with pain in the lower pelvic area or a cramping sensation, if you experience this you should make an appointment with your OBGYN doctor and get checked, this is something that should be brought to your doctors attention and it is not to be dismissed as nothing. Your physician will more than likely schedule a pelvic ultrasound first and if they are able to anything they will schedule a biopsy to remove a small piece of the lining of the uterus, it will be sent to the lab to check for cancer cells, endometrial dysplasia and other conditions, If this comes back as benign then it is not cancerous, but, if it is malignant then they have found …show more content…
Family History, also known as hereditary with other family members who have had cancer. It is very important for you to know any family history for endometrial cancer as it can be passed through as genetics in a family. It could skip a generation and affect your off spring so it is always good to know if anything runs in your family. One last risk is a person’s age, most women who are over 50 and are post-menopausal are at risk for endometrial cancer.
One of the last factors to play a role is diet and exercise, women who tend to eat a high fat diet has an effect on the estrogen metabolism and it increases the risk of endometrial cancer, this is also caused from eating animal products (meats) and carbohydrates. We all know this is bad for any of us but we still continue to eat more than we should and it gets into our fat cells, this is what is called adipose tissue in the body. Exercise is a big part of a healthy life and if we don’t do enough of it, then the cells in our body turn to fat. It is very important to stress the desire to exercise everyday if not at least three times a week to help with health
